Open House Night

Hi everyone. I'm super excited to meet everyone on Thursday! We're going to be talking a little about Lower Elementary Montessori and some things to expect for the coming year. Children are welcome to come on Thursday night. I've met them all and the presentation may be a little dry for them so it's not required. Let me know if you have any questions about the supply list! Dear Montessori Parents,
I am thrilled and honored to be your child’s Lower Elementary Montessori teacher.  Your child is about to change and grow in ways hard to fathom. This will be such an exciting journey for us all.
All first grade Montessori parents will meet on Thursday, August 16th from 7:00-8:00 P.M.  At this time we will go over general open house information as well as what to expect from the Lower Elementary Montessori curriculum.
Below is a list of materials you may have lying around the house. If you are willing to donate these materials, please feel free. Please do not feel obligated to buy any of these materials. Also included is a list of materials for your child’s personal use this school year as well as materials the community will be using.
 “Around the House” Items
·         Baskets (Any Size- from small ones for buttons to large ones for laundry)
·         Small objects/toys  (golf ball sized. These are used for a variety of lessons)
·         Washcloths
·         Trays (wood, bamboo, plastic, glass)
·         Fabric, felt, thread, etc.
·         Used silverware (no knives), plates, cups, glasses, pitchers, vases, etc.

 Personal Items 
•   1 backpack large enough for a three ring binder (Please no wheels, no cartoon characters, or movie stars).
•   1 pair of soft soled indoor shoes. Example:  crocs style, Lands In, Toms, etc. These shoes will be left at school and used daily. Please no cartoon characters.
·         1 framed 4 in. X 6 in. family photo. Walmart carries this sized frame for around $3.

Community Items  (Do not put your child’s name on these items.)
·         1 pack of glue sticks  
·         1 pack of large pink erasers  
·         1 pack of Ticonderoga brand pencils  SEE PHOTO BELOW
·         1 white half inch wide 3 ring binder
·         1 box of 12 Crayola colored pencils
·         3 black and white marble composition notebooks SEE PHOTO BELOW
·         1 marble graph paper notebooks (This will look just like the above composition books but will have graph paper instead of lined paper.)
·         1 hand held pencil sharpener (please have one that catches the shavings!
·         1 8 in. by 11 in. wooden clip board
