International Night Photos

We had such an awesome time tonight! International Night was a big success. We sang music from Japan, ate food from India, and looked at art from China. We also displayed and answered questions about our research projects. Thanks to everyone who helpd to make it a success. Here are a few pictures from the evening.

Some of our art (diyas, fans, origami, and sewn pandas)

International Night

We are all looking forward to celebrating our study of Asia on December 13 at 6:00 pm! We will sing a song we have learned, showcase art from Asia, and sample food from various countries on the continent. We will also be displaying our projects from the research we've done in class. Please arrive on time as we will start promptly at 6:00. Your child doesn't need to bring anything or wear anything special. They just need to be their amazing selves. Because space is limited, we will only be able to accommodate immediate families. Any questions about the celebration or the project, please contact me!

Ling Ling Goes to Charlotte

A very special panda bear went to Charlotte, NC recently. He got to stay with one of our classmates at Great Wolf Lodge and went to see Carrie Underwood in concert! Ling Ling had a great time!

Grammar Symbols

In Lower Elementary Montessori, we do a lot of work with the various parts of speech. Each part of speech and it's coordinating symbol is introduced one at a time. The child learns to label the parts of speech in a sentence or phrase and will eventually label the parts of speech in his or her own sentence.

Eventually our work will look something like this.

Right now our work looks like this. As of now, we have learned nouns, articles, and adjectives. This is known as the noun family

November's Research

In November we are researching an animal from the Timeline of Life. These are some of my favorite pictures to take.

Here are just a few pictures from my family's recent vacation. We had a great time. Disney World is my happy place. Everyone is so cheerful, everything is so clean, and there are so many hidden secrets.

E and Merida. She was so much fun.

H tried but couldn't pull the sword from the stone. I guess someone else will have to be king of England.
